To all my students this year....Welcome to Algebra. Algebra is not only an extremely useful subject but an exciting one. Specifically, Algebra is a way of describing how two quantities or amounts are related. For example, using algebra you can show someone the connection between how many jumping jacks you can do and how long you have been jumping (time) or you can see how the number of rides you go on at Six Flags is connected to the amount of money you end up spending. So, basically, we use algebra to make predictions about what will happen in the future or what happened in the past, based on patterns we see.
Well, more on that later. Using this blog, you can leave me messages/comments, keep track of what homework has been assigned so far, get review material, find cool extra credit projects, and link to helpful websites on the web about the topics we are learning (or related things). And hey, you can make suggestions if there is something else you would like to see here. You'll find that I like to be creative but like hearing great ideas from my students even better.
Ok mis estudiantes,
See you in the classroom (that's C10 by the way).
